Cinema 4D – Thrausi Displacement

In an effort to produce some more 3D work after my last 2D marathon I’ve made this short video. The text I think is pretty cool in its torn up jagged state and makes the lettering seem as though its ripping open very unnaturally with colour.

The effect is simple to achieve. You just split your 3D text into smaller parts using the C4D plugin ‘Thrausi’ or any other splitting method, then apply displacement to the material that is created for the new inside bits of your text. This causes the inside material to sort of fracture outwards from the text and also makes other areas crumple inwards which is very cool too.

I’ve finished my first music video (perhaps first of many?). It took an exceptionally long time to produce but I’m loving the final result! It was also the longest ever 2D animation render time I’ve ever had at a cool 14 hours.

Junior ISA Explained Video

Recently I’ve been freelancing at Brighton based video production studio Fat Sand Productions. I’ve participated on a lot of projects with them, more recently I completed work on a new animated video for Family Investments, another Brighton based company.

The video explains the new Junior ISA with colourful and fun animations. The illustrations were provided by Kelly Hyatt at Lagom Design.

Shattered Glass Ident Video Intro

Brand new video intro is finished and ready to go! This ident will be used for all future tutorial videos for the PCGameCast tutorial videos.

The music is a quick edit I created from a track on CCmixter. The video itself is based from a tutorial over on Grey Scale Gorilla’s blog. I heavily tweaked my version of their video however adding my own spin to it!
